Drake on Chris Brown Feud: Fighting Over Rihanna "Distracts From the Music"

Drake's had his issues with Chris Brown in the past, sure, but it's the
attention surrounding the twosome's longtime feud that really upsets
him.
In an interview with GQ, the 26-year-old rapper calls his feud with
Breezy "embarrassing" and dishes on the alleged NYC nightclub
brawl that went down in June 2012, reportedly over Rihanna.
"I wish we could sit down, just like you and me are right now, and
talk it out man-to-man. But that's not going to happen," he says.
"I'm not confrontational, but if someone challenges, I'm not going to
back down."
"Two rappers fighting over the woman. He's not even a rapper, but
still, it's the last way you want your name out there," the erstwhile
Degrassi: The Next Generation star says, alluding to the now-
infamous run-in at W.i.P. club. "It distracts from the music. But he's
made me the enemy, and that's the way it's gonna stay, I guess."
But Drake can't let himself dwell on his beef with Chris. "If I think
about it too much, I feel it wrapping around my foot, like I get a
feeling it could end really badly," he says.
When the interviewer tries to discern if Drake is concerned for
Rihanna's safety or what lengths Chris might supposedly go to in
order to perpetuate the feud, he won't clarify. When asked more
specifically to explain what he means, Drake only says, "Like, it gets
really dark."
Not to worry, though: Drake has friends in Hollywood, too.
"I had lunch the other day with someone I extremely look up to," he
says. "OK—I had lunch with Will Smith, and listening to him talk, it
made me think I don't know what love is. He said something
profound. He said love is when you become one and you need that
person. It's not about wanting anymore, you need that person.
Hearing that, I don't know if I've ever felt that way."
"I've made a lot of music about love being the only thing I'm
missing," he continues. "I think this is the first album I've made
saying, I'm OK. I'm enjoying it right now. Maybe this is my time to
grind it out, make a run for it and add some memories with my
boys."
Fair enough. And when he is ready to settle on down, there will be
no shortage of ladies lining up to be Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham!
