Naked woman, 19, who went on‘spiritual quest’ in Washington forest, is missing

Maureen Kelly, 19, of Vancouver, Wash., has been reported missing
after she walked off the Canyon Creek Campground on Sunday.
Fears are growing for the safety of a naked Washington woman last seen
walking away from a campground on a"spiritual quest."
Maureen Kelly, 19, vanished into the depths of Gifford Pinchot
National Forest, in the southwest of the state, on Sunday night.
Search and rescue crews look for Maureen Kellly, 19, of Vancouver,
Washington, who was reported missingafter she walked off the Canyon
Creek Campground in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest on Sunday.
Wearing nothing but a fanny pack containing a small knife and a
compass, she dumped friends at the Canyon Creek Campground to embark
on her otherworldly journey.
Search crews have scoured the area, some 60 miles northeast of
Portland, and think she may have crossed a creek to climb to the other
side of the canyon.

But they say the Vancouver, Wash., resident's tracks stopped after a
paved road — giving little clue as to where she may currently be.
Skamania County Sheriff Dave Brown told KPTV that the search would now
be scaled down until the end of the week.

"Twelve 4x4 Search teams searched thearea again on Tuesday and we were
unable to locate Ms. Kelly," he said."They found nothing that is
related to this search and rescue mission. "
"Our deputies will continue to check the area for the next couple of
days and at that time we will reevaluate ouroptions if Ms. Kelly does
not return from her spiritual quest," he added.
