Pilot rescued after crash landing

A pilot has been airlifted to hospital after rescuers freed him from
his two-seater plane when it crash landed in Fife.
The 50-year-old became trapped when the single-engine, fixed wing
aircraft came down minutes after taking off from Glenrothes airfield
onSaturday.
Police Scotland said he was able to raise the alarm and report he had
isolated the fuel supply.
The man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
He was the only person on board the aircraft. Details of the man's
condition have not been released andan investigation into the cause of
thecrash is under way.
Insp Andrew Sneddon, from Police Scotland, said: "The Air Accident
Investigation Branch has been contacted and I would like to appeal for
anyone who saw the aircraft in the minutes before it came down to get
in touch with us."
