Students Protest Over JAMB Results

Some students who wrote the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB)
Examination in April have protested over the outcome of the results,
insisting that their scripts should be remarked.
Speaking on behalf of the students on Channels Television breakfast
show Sunrise Daily, Obinna Ekulu explained that he failed JAMBafter
passing WAEC and NECOwith (As) he said that he passed JAMB last year
with a score of 267 and this year he got 167. He said all they ask for
is a review of their script.
They also disagreed with the option JAMB officials gave saying they
should pay N10,000 and come to Abuja for a review of their script.
Also speaking on the protest is a lawyer, Esuola Olagoke, who referred
to the option given by the JAMB officials tothe students as
"Extortion", hesaid the students deserve to get their papers remarked
without having to pay anything.
He said the option of asking them to come to Abuja involves a lot
including transportation, accommodation for some dayswhich he says is
not necessary.
Olagoke said the students wrote their exams in Lagos so the scripts
should be remarkedin Lagos, he insisted that whatever the problem is
"is from JAMB and they should not be paying for their mistake".
